About me

I am a dog lover (animal lover is more accurate!), but I think that is pretty obvious. I do not know how you could do this work without loving dogs. I was born and raised in Shreveport, La. and I attended Louisiana State University receiving a degree in Electronic Media.

After college, I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to begin my professional life. After working in the broadcasting industry for a few years, I found myself a product of the dot com bust. I was struggling to find work in a shaky market when it hit me...I am walking my dog every day (an awesome black lab named Bodhi), why not take a few more with me. And BriCoPie Pet Care was born.

I owned and operated BriCoPie Pet Care for over three years and relished every moment. I took what I did very seriously and grew a tremendous and well respected business. I was even awarded "Best Dog Walker" by the San Francisco Bay Guardian in 2005. My success was based on my love for what I did and treating every pet I cared for as if they were my own. This way, only the best intentions went into the care of each animal.

In September of 2005, Hurrican Katrina hit New Orleans and the surrounding areas and I took a hiatus from my dream job to return to Louisiana and give back to the state that had given me so much. My family and I returned to my home town where I took a job as a Case Manager with Volunteers of America working directly with Katrina evacuees. It was tremendously rewarding and I was happy I could help out and give back to the people that needed it most. Then, in late 2007, my family was offered another wonderful opportunity to begin a new life in the New York Area and we just couldn't resist.

I always loved my job as a dog walker and professional pet care provider. Being outdoors and playing with dogs all day turned out to be a dream come true and I missed doing it. And now, as luck would have it, I have found myself with another opportunity to do what I love and help people keep their pets healthy and happy. My dog walking skills may have been West Coast born, but now I have brought my expertise and love for what I do to the East Coast. My company may have a new name, but my love for dogs has remained the same!
